   WHO AM I

I'm Audrey Mehl, here to present to you a blog recounting the many experiences and observations I may be involved in or have on my mind. Watch out Hungary.

When I had one semester left of college I, like many soon-to-be college grads, wondered what I should do once I get that sought after degree. The sittuation was this, for those who are interested: I was getting a bachelor of science degree in secondary education, emphases in History and English Language Learning. I was also on track for a Lutheran teacher's diploma and a music minor. So there I was at home, during Christmas break, thinking about what I should do. I wanted to use my degree, I wanted to grow in new and exciting ways and I wanted to do it to the glory of God.

I thought it might be hard to incorporate this goulash of attributes into my future, but God made it pretty easy for me. In fact, it felt as though it was pretty hard to miss. Mission of Christ Network was and is a pretty new institution. I know several missionaries and my church had always been a huge supporter of them. The executive director of Mission of Christ Network had just moved to town and I thought maybe I should have a talk with him. He and I both felt as if teaching as a misionary in Hungary would enrich my future in extremely special ways. I looked forward to my future throughout the rest of my college experience and asked a childhood friend, Samantha, to come along and share these experiences with me. We went through training and met many wonderful mission partners. After the long hot summer, I got on a plane, several planes, and here I am sitting in a cozy kitchen at a tiny table writing to you after a long day of teaching. It's wonderful to think back at how well everything fit together, which makes me think that this is where I belong.
